IT Specialist and Engineering Assistant

2022 - Present

  • In this role, I took some of the fundamentals I learned in past experiences and applied them to more complex real-world and hands-on scenarios. Here I actually got to configure and work with Cisco networking equipment, as well as Palo Alto. It was a nice change working for a single organization and helping to build and secure its IT infrastructure, working directly with the users to craft effective solutions to real-world problems.

  • The role required some creativity and flexibility, as many of the scenarios RF and antenna engineers required demanded practical specialized setups to get around issues.

  • I also got more experience in WiFi systems troubleshooting and configuration (e.g. Cisco EWC), cloud skills, file migrations, server provisioning, backups, imaging, license server maintenance, Linux, SFTP servers, etc.

IT Tech

2019 - 2022

  • This was a solid introductory role that really threw me into the fray from day one, in the fast paced world of an MSP with many dozens of clients. I got to apply many theoretical concepts I learned in interesting ways, helped with cabling, computer provisioning, image deployment with WSL, and got to use centralized IT management dashboards like SolarWinds

  • I also got real-world exposure to the world of VoIP
